Lynden B. Rose was appointed to the University of Houston System Board of Regents by Governor Greg Abbott on December 12, 2025, marking his second term of service on the Board, which will run through August 31, 2031. He previously served as a Regent from January 2, 2004, through August 31, 2009, during which time he held numerous leadership roles, including Vice Chair of the Board of Regents and chair and vice chair positions across several standing committees. An attorney and entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience, Rose currently serves as Of Counsel at Hoover Slovacek LLP. His legal practice spans corporate law, sports and entertainment law, real estate development, construction, and infrastructure, representing governmental entities, domestic and international organizations, high-net-worth investors, and professional athletes. He has served as Honorary Consul for the Commonwealth of The Bahamas in the State of Texas since 2014. A proud University of Houston alumnus, Rose earned his Bachelor of Science in Political Science and his Juris Doctor from the UH Law Center and was co-captain of the Cougar men’s basketball team that reached the NCAA Final Four in 1982. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in 1982. He is the founder and chairman of National Education and Sports Solutions and the founder of the LM Rose Consulting Group. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of TDECU and is Vice-Chairman of the Board of Harris County Houston Sports Authority. He also serves on the boards of American Risk Insurance Company and the College of Biblical Studies. He is married to Marilyn, and they have three children, Madelyn, Lynden Jr., and Lynnard.
