The Office of General Counsel is responsible for maintaining expertise in various aspects of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972  and  rules and regulations promulgated pursuant to the statute governs gender equality in higher education including situations which may constitute sexual assault or sexual harassment. The Office of General Counsel provides advice to university personnel.
