Peter Taaffe

Peter Taaffe was appointed to the UH System Board of Regents in 2013 by Governor Rick Perry and served until November 8, 2019. 

Taaffe is a mediator and owner of Resolve ADR, a mediation firm in Houston, Texas.  He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, former board member of the University of Houston Center for U.S. and Mexican Law Advisory Board, and a former adjunct professor at the University of Houston Law Center.  

He is a past member of the State Bar of Texas Pro Bono College and the Robert W. Calvert American Inn of Court, a past board member of the University of Houston Law Center Alumni Association, and a founder and past president of the University of Texas Phi Gamma Delta Alumni Advisory Board.  He is also a former volunteer for Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas, Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program, Mobile Loaves and Fishes and the Westlake Youth Basketball Association. 

Taaffe was named to the Texas Super Lawyers in personal injury litigation and business litigation from 2016 to 2021.

Taaffe received a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas and a law degree from the UH Law Center.  After graduating from law school, he served as senior briefing attorney for the U.S. District Court    Judge Joe J. Fisher. He has also competed 40 hour mediation training at the University of Houston Law Center.
